EARTHENWARE
FESTIVAL OF PEJAGATAN VILLAGE
May
13, 2018, Head of Kutowinangun Drs. Agus Susanto opened the Earthenware
Festival of Pejagatan Village. The event organized by the youths of Pejagatan
Village, which is held by Nanang Setiawan, was attended by Forkompimcam on the
occasion also attended by ORI Director (Original Rekor Indonesia Award).
Concerned
about the future of earthenware in Pejagatan, Nanang Setiyawan (24) took the
initiative to hold a Earthenware Festival in Pejagatan Village. The purpose is
to encourage the younger generation of pejagatan village and kebumen to develop
and preserve the craft that has been inherited by the ancestors.
In
festivals that take place in the field of Pejagatan village, villagers managed
to get the award from Original Rekor Indonesia (ORI) in making the largest earthenware.
Villagers of Pejagatan village managed to make earthenware from clay as many as
1439 with 100 craftsmen in a period of 3 hours. In addition to the record,
there are 2 other record that solved, which is making the biggest serabi with a
diameter of 1m and make the largest logo of clay with size 3x3m. Logo made is
Logo Bokor Kencana is one of the palace food suppliers of the State and Taman
Mini Indonesia Indah in Jakarta.

And
then the Chairman of the Committee of Earthenware Festival Pejagatan, Nanang
Setiyawan admitted grateful for the creation of 3 records. He also explained if
the earthenware of the globe has its own uniqueness. In addition to the
different shapes, the color is also black unlike other earthenware. That's
because the workmanship is still manually by the hand of the artisans
themselves. Differences in shape and color, it is caused by the burning process
using dried bamboo leaves, resulting in black color that purportedly he said
could be a bidder of toxins.
Head
of Pejagatan Village, Mr. Hidayat Djuhri said that his party appreciated the
activities that were implemented thanks to the cooperation of village government
and youth organization. Hopefully, Pejagatan community economy can be better.
"In addition, this black clay earthenware is increasingly recognized in
Indonesia market to foreign countries," he said
President of
Indonesia's Original Record, Agung Elvianto, said the award is expected to
bring a positive impact on the development of earthenware in Kebumen. "Our
hope, after the appreciation of this earthenware will be a legend of the crafts
of the work of local men, beating China in design and form. We also hope that
the earthenware center in Kebumen can become one of the icon of Kebumen city
and become world legend. So is the culinary as it is now by making the biggest serabi
